Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado has urged Harry Kane to quit the London-based club.

Soldado admits he would enjoy seeing Kane testing himself in La Liga as he believes the Spurs captain would be a success.

The Spaniard played for the north London side for two seasons but failed to make an impact as he netted just 16 goals in 76 appearances.

“I don’t regret going to Tottenham. I thought I was going to fit in well with my style of play and the form I was in. But I had the boom of Harry Kane to contend with,” he told Daily Mail.

“I understood it perfectly because you could see immediately what a massive impact he could have on games, and he’s maintained that incredible level. I don’t think there is a limit to what he can do. I still don’t think we have seen the best of Harry Kane.”

“I would like to see it. I remember shooting drills in training and the way he was so prolific with both feet. If you add to that the experience he now has, I don’t think he would have a problem adapting.”

Soldado played for Spurs for two seasons but struggled to adjust in England, scoring just 16 goals in 76 games.

He also said that the form of Kane was one of the reasons he failed to make an impact in the Premier League, and that he always knew the 26-year-old was going to be a star even from a young age.
