After having already done so during the last summer transfer, Bayern Munich is again monitoring the idea of getting their hands on the German international, Leroy Sane.
The latter is currently unavailable because of a rupture of the ligaments of a knee early in the season.
Despite this forced stoppage and the uncertainty surrounding his physical condition, the German champions would be ready to bet on him and they could do it as early as next January.
According to the various reports, Munich officials are inclined to secure the deal as soon as possible. The departures of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery have been partially overcome on the flanks and with Sane, they would have an additional option in this sector.
Bayern Munich board member Edmund Stoiber said to BILD: “There was a discussion about Sane. The unfortunate injury and the operation stopped it for the first time around. We will see how the contact develops.
“As chairman of the Advisory Board and member of the Supervisory Board, I have great faith in the sporting leadership. If they propose a transfer of this size then that is justified. We know what was required, how the sum was raised. But financial stability is the responsibility of our chief financial officer Jan-Christian Dreesen.”
The replacement of Sane in Man City
On the side of City, Pep Guardiola is very fond of his German winger, but he may not have a say in a possible transaction.
Sane is only a year and a half away from the end of his contract. This means that the next transfer emerges as the last opening to be able to yield the talented winger against a decent amount, unless extended.
Any club, with a keen sense of business, could be seduced by this prospect, including Man City, despite its great financial strength.
It is rumored, moreover, that the champions of England have already identified the replacement of their number 19. It would be Mikel Oyarzabal, the attacking midfielder Real Sociedad.
